UI & Illustration Designer
Halifax, NS

We're looking for a UI & Illustration Designer with 3+ years of experience to join our Product Team in Halifax. This is an early-stage hire where breadth matters more than specialization. Two immediate priorities: keep the product UI moving forward and ramp up illustration and content output.

The right person moves fast, is comfortable with ambiguity, and can shift between pixel-pushing and producing content without losing momentum. If you like building things before the playbook exists, this is for you.

What the role is:

UI/UX Design
Proficient in Figma — components, auto layout, prototyping, and clean handoff. Solid grasp of UI/UX principles without overengineering. Comfortable within an existing design system and able to contribute to its upkeep. Has designed for web and/or mobile.

Illustration & Graphic Design
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator — vector creation, editing, and working within an existing visual style. Good eye for consistency and detail. Photoshop experience a plus.

Content
Comfortable across content formats — creating templates and layouts, reviewing printables, creating images for animation, and providing relevant feedback when needed. Team contributor, not strategy owner.

Tooling & Workflow
Comfortable in Google Workspace. Willing to learn lightweight workflow automation. Keeps shared files organized without being asked.

AI Fluency
Uses AI tools actively and sensibly. Knows when output is production-ready and when it isn't.

What This Role Is Not:
Not a senior product design position. You won't own design strategy or lead UI direction. You'll work alongside an established senior designer — complementing, not leading. We're a small team. Everyone executes.

You possess superb communication, time-management and process-management skills. Communications in the company are done in English, so you’ll need to have full professional proficiency in English (written and oral).
